what goes up must surely come down
so, i guess i'll start with the highs first then the lows.
i've had an unbelievably awesome week+end.
wednesday, thursday, FRIDAY and saturday
great night outs with great friends and to top it off,
one of the (dare i say it?) best futsal session yet!
on the the low,
you guessed it! England is out of the World Cup
im not as bitter now as i was yesterday. trust me
I admit England were outclassed, outmatched, outplayed by a much much better Germany side (which i think is going to win the World Cup).
but for f*ck's sake why on earth is the goal ruled out when it was clearly 2 or 3 yards in the goal and the linesman was at perfect position to see it and didnt call it a goal.
unbelievable.
i dont (really) blame the referees as much as i blame FIFA to not consider action.
this World Cup tells it all.
the dives, the unnecessary yellows, the 'never-was' reds, the offsides ... you name it!
I dont really dont have the mood to watch the World Cup because theres no England match to look forward to..
im amazed however, at the how most nations showed how much they really want to win
especially the smaller ones.
this is by far the most controversial and most unpredictable World Cup i've seen.
its like the Jabulani ; controversial and unpredictable (whatd'yaknow)
im losing track of time because of late nights watching the world cup and all.
i've not been doing anything productive too.
i (desperately) need to get myself a job!
maybe after the world cup hey?
later days, biyotches!

a story to tell your friends
It started innocent enough with a day just like any other
Woke up late and running behind Americano on corner
She came without a warning
Knocked my drink all over me
She said
Sorry I was rushing and I gotta get to work
After that I didn’t hear a single word she said
I was caught off guard by her turquoise eyes
And I knew then I gotta make her mine
Turned out my pocket a crumpled up paper
She gave me the day before
A scribbled message and her number
Said “call me later”
Who am I to keep her waiting?
So without hesitation, I sat down started contemplating
If I wait to call her, will it be too late?
I’m staring at the phone but don’t know I’d say
something about this girl drives me crazy
It started innocent enough with a day just like any other
Woke up late but right on time
I got halfway out the door then heard
“Where are you going?”
She grabbed me by the wrist, she pulled me
Back into bed
Pressed her lips against my ear and
Here’s what she said
I’ve got my mindset on you
There’s nothing you can do to change my mind about it
Inside out you’re beautiful
There’s nothing you can do to change my mind about you
- Every Avenue
clever little querky and cheeky lyrics.
which i think is kinda cute.
works well on acoustic too!

T+S=AWESOME
Opening Act #1 : The Jezabels
these aussies are fantastic!
definitely worth a check
and i think the vocalist is pretty *
i've got a soft spot for girls like these
somehow she reminds me of Ellen Page from a distance, no?
they are coming again and i dont mind going (if the tix are cheap)
Friday, June 18 (Hi Fi, Melbourne)
Opening Act #2 : Astronautalis
so this one-man band comes up to stage armed with only a laptop for his beats.
he raps along with the beats with lyrics based on everyday life?
pretty cool concept right? i know
funny guy too.
Main Show : yeap you guessed it. Tegan + Sara
after all these years dreaming about going to a T+S concert
i was finally there!
though i missed out on John Mayer and Vampire Weekend,
this surely did put a smile on my face!
Sara was talking about how she was drunk on wine and vomited snake gummies
going all emo on Elizabeth Shu! Haha
also made a few new friends on the venue. they are such nice people!
the highlight of the night is when the concert was over,
they were exiting the stage at my end where i stand.
SARA WAVED DIRECTLY AT ME! *starstruck!*
oh myyy :$
and oh, before i forget.
credits to CinVin for lending me the camera!
shanks!! :)
here is the list of song they played.
there are a few songs missing im sure of it
i just cant recall.
yes, the setlist is by me (since no one posted anything on the site)
we need more girls like these in the (my) world! ;
i know it turns you off when im talking like a teen

a million little pieces to start
Found my faith
Living in sin, I’m no Jesus
neither are you, my friend
I’m a whore
A boy for broken dreams
The simple answer is never what it seems
A million little pieces
We’ve broken in two
A million little pieces
I stole it from you
So, I fall
From heaven into hell
Sick as my secrets
I'm never gonna tell

are you ready for this!?
Georges St Pierre vs Dan Hardy
Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin
i cant wait for this!!
"Michelangelo said...The danger in life is not to put your goal too high and never being able to reach it. It's to put your goal to low, and being able to reach it. That's the danger in life. Me, I always put my goal very high."
Hardy is such a TIT he wont stand a chance.

Fare the Well !
Mr Rodney Ng Chee Han
whos probably in Singapore and back to Kuching after that.
quite an emotional farewell as me, Romesh and Praveen went to his apartment and said our last goodbyes.
my first ever (and probably the best ever) roommate in Melbourne
on that faithful Sunday at approx. 10pm (cant remember the date ; all i know is the next day was the first day of Trinity College )
i went back to Arrow on Swanston, theres this head peeping out of his room wondering whos at the door.
Typical Rodney went out with his pajamas (Land Cruiser shirt? and brown elastic pants all tucked in) and said Hello and introduced himself.
the start of one hellofa friendship.
roommates till mid 2008.
late night talks before bed
lets not forget his Wednesday Trinity attire ; a blue 'World Without Strangers' shirt with shorts and slippers (black reebok robocop shoes during winter)
his never ending packets of IndoMee (the original ones not those at safeways) ; we ate so much that the empty packets overflowed from the rubbish bin till out the door!
his catch phrases "chow kuku lan momo ngok ngok ngok"
his disgustingly unique burp
i can go on and on and on...
here's to all the memories Rodney!
goodluck with everything and all the best!!

GET WELL SOON
not another one!?
and if you have the time, this is worth the read
thoughts on the tackle
GET WELL SOON AARON RAMSEY !
and if you have the time, this is worth the read
thoughts on the tackle
the past week...
It has been an eventful past week for me.
First up I went to the All Time Low gig at the Hi Fi with The Almost and Dance Gavin Dance as supporting acts.
This was the first time i went to a gig by MYSELF. It felt a little awkward lining up alone for an hour.
one of my biggest regret was going WITHOUT A CAMERA because i dont have one of those compact camera :( :( :( :(
despite going alone (and the benefit of squeezing through the front with ease)...
I got to see The Almost so its kinda 'killing 2 birds with one stone'. Plus, i heard Dance Gavin Dance for the first time (although im not in to much screamO they arent that bad). They got the crowd pumping ; starting the mosh.
I was lucky enough to avoid those pushing and shoving as I was all the way up in the front ; the stage was literally reachable. I got to stand next to a sweet and the most friendly girl ever *ahem*
All Time Low opened with 'Lost In Stereo' already the crowd went freaking crazy!
throughout the gig, shirts and bras were thrown on stage. yeeish.
Alex from All Time Low pulled out the acoustic guitar and played 'Remembering Sunday'. Towards the ending of the song (the part where Juliet Simms sang) Cassadee Pope from HEY MONDAY came out!
this made my fcking night!
at the end of the show (i think it was 'Weighless' they were playing i forgot) Jack went to the crowd and hugged and shook everyone's hands (including MINE!).
I was drenched, moshed, and trampled on but it was fcking AMAZING!
I got a chance to catch a drum stick but instead i ACCIDENTALLY grab a girl's boob (woops)
dont worry the 'victim' didnt mind because she caught the bloody drum stick (not MINE) HAHA!
so its all good
ooh ooh, after the show i got to hang with the whole band from Dance Gavin Dance!
Matt (kickass of a drummer) was so friendly ; he even asked everyone to come hang with them at a pub somewhere.
the ONLY picture i took was with him (Matt)
I GOT TO SEE ALL TIME LOW AFTER ALL THESE YEARS !!(i missed them back on 2007)
well there it is. such an amazing night!
--
phew, quite a chunk of words there.
I am also now a QUALIFIED Barista !
did a (really short) course on how to make coffee.
it definitely made me appreciate coffee a hell lot more!
currently looking for part time jobs to occupy myself on my free time!
thats about it i think
next up... FUTURE MUSIC FESTIVAL !!!
ps:/
tons of bands are coming to melbourne this year
they decided to come all at once in one year (IM BROKE AS IT IS BUT I WANT TO GO!)
Vampire Weekend
Tegan & Sara (this i will freaking try to make it!)
Owl City / Cobra Starship
John Mayer
so far...
i cant decide on which to go ; definitely cant go for all of em :(
